As you may already know, fluoride is a natural and beneficial mineral that can strengthen and nourish your teeth, giving them the ability to fight many dental issues, like tooth decay and enamel erosion. However, what you might not know is how to access fluoride. Well, to help you, Dr. J. Brandon Allen and our dental team would like to recommend different ways you can increase your fluoride exposure.

First, ask for a fluoride treatment at Bullard Family Dentistry. For your benefit, Dr. J. Brandon Allen and our dental team offer a professional fluoride treatment each time you come into our office for a professional teeth cleaning and exam. This treatment generally comes in the form of a foam, gel or varnish and it is most likely flavored.

Second, use fluoride oral hygiene products. It’s best to brush your teeth twice a day—every morning and every night—with fluoride toothpaste that has earned the American Dental Association’s Seal of Acceptance. This will help you nourish and care for your smile regularly. Also, if you rinse your mouth once a day with fluoride mouthwash, your teeth will be thoroughly cleaned and strengthened.

Third, use natural fluoride sources. For your convenience, your city provides fluoridated water in the local water system. So, if you drink enough tap water, you will receive the fluoride exposure your teeth need. You can also find fluoridated water in specific brands of bottled water. Lastly, there are some foods you can eat that can increase your fluoride intake. Those foods are spinach, pickles, carrots, tomatoes and asparagus. For more food tips, please talk to Dr. J. Brandon Allen.

If you have any questions about how to access fluoride in Bullard, Texas, please feel free to call our office at 903-710-2309 and talk to a member of our dental team. We also encourage you to schedule an appointment if you’re due for a dental cleaning and exam. We look forward to helping you achieve a strong and healthy smile!
